I knew from the
time I was a child that I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. In 1961,
during a particularly snowy winter day, I spotted an ad in the New York Times for Lockheed in
Sunnyvale, California. I had no idea where Sunnyvale was, but I had previously
worked in Los Angeles (for a competitor), and it sure sounded good to me. I
applied, was accepted and drove cross country figuring I would be there a few
years. Fifty years later, I retired from Lockheed. How exciting those years were!
Great people, great products and wonderful opportunities.
