Submarine Communications

I started in 1972 as an RF engineer
by Philip B.

I started working at one of the Lockheed Martin legacy companies, right out of school in 1972 as an RF engineer. My brother also began there just out of school in 1974 as a mechanical engineer. We worked three floors apart. I had the privilege of working on the integrated radio room of the Trident submarine for 15 years, which included many weeks at sea. This is an assignment I will never forget. Below is a picture taken in the lab of the entire analog team commemorating the wedding of one the team members who is wearing the traditional ball and chain, a tradition used for over 50 years.
