Eyewitness to Freedom 7

We accelerated tomorrow every day
by Chester M.

In 1959, I went to work at the Glenn L. Martin Company in Orlando, Florida, on the Bullpup and Pershing programs. In May 1961, I stood on a Pershing mock-up gantry there and watched the first manned launch of the Mercury Program of Alan Shepard that morning. Personally, the company was a big help to my becoming a graduate engineer. Later, I retired as a vice president from Lockheed Martin.
