My love for
aircraft began with my grandmother. She became a single mother of four in 1936.
She put herself through school and went to work for Lockheed in Burbank as an
electrical draftswoman. She worked on several projects, including the P-38
Lightning, the P-2V Neptune and the F-104 Starfighter.
I served in the Navy during Vietnam working on the E-2A/B aircraft. In
1985, I worked for Martin Marietta Astronautics on the Peacekeeper, Small
Missile and Payload Transporter Vans programs. So my family’s contribution to
Lockheed spans many years.
