I started with the Martin Company in January
1958 as a senior technician in the static test area (Complex B, D-3), and I left
Martin Marietta in December 1977 as a senior engineer. Two things stand out in
my memory. First, while assigned to D-3, during a side-by-side test firing, we
destroyed the first stage and test stand. Secondly, in 1974, while working a
special contract for NASA Headquarters on the Skylab program, I was selected as
an honoree to attend the Skylab 4 launch.
