I arrived at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company
in Sunnyvale, California, in May 1966. I had a job offer, but there was no
record of it. They found me a job anyway. So, instead of working as an engineer
testing missiles as I had expected, I worked in the satellite test center operating
spacecraft. I spent over 10 years doing that.
