Smarter-Than-Average Aerospace Design

It was a picture-perfect journey
by Mark W.

I started as an intern in 1975 on the L-1011 program in Burbank, California. It was a fine way to learn and get exposure to engineering—good engineering. After graduation, the company brought me into ADP, and I was assigned to the F-117 program. There, I learned much from the "fathers" as one of us said. From there, it was one interesting task and program after another. I was able to see and do a lot more than the average design engineer in aerospace at the time, and I eventually received Inventor of the Year award in 1994—a true honor. Lockheed Martin is a great company with great products and great people. Thanks for the journey!
