Necessity Is the Mother of Innovation

I am proud to have worked on Titan
by David W.

I was employed at the Titan Facility from 1958 to 1968. During that time, I had been working on the development of welding control systems. Titan III Project Manager John Healy told me, "I have to be in production on the Titan III in 30 days, and nobody knows how to run a tapered weld." I answered, “Don't worry John. Give me the money, and you will have it." In 30 days, it was on the fixture, and it ran for over 20 years!
