In 1955, I joined Lockheed in Burbank, California, and worked in the
weights group. I transitioned to Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in 1956 to
join the Polaris standards group and moved to Sunnyvale the following year.
Later, I was part of the quality assurance group, and I participated in the
DSRV program. I also participated in the support of the first deep-dive. Eventually,
I rejoined the underwater missile program as part of the surface support group.
I was also part of the Navy submarine base selection team and made a video
report of the various sites. I retired from Lockheed in January 1984, and I
returned to my native country, the Netherlands, in ten years later.
