My grandfather worked at Lockheed before World War II
as a crane operator (he owned the crane). My mother worked the swing shift when
she was in high school. She started on the factory floor and worked her way up
to an office position. In her last working years, she again worked at Lockheed
and retired from the company (she is now 88). Oh, my dad had a hamburger stand
across the street from the plant.
