My Parents Met at Middle River

I carried on the decades-old tradition
by Linda H.

The Glen L. Martin plant was comprised of huge hangars when my parents worked there way back when. They actually met at the plant and later married. Mom left her job of $1 an hour to be a housewife. Dad continued working until retirement. I worked for Martin Marietta in the data systems division, supporting aerospace programs. I watched Patriot launchers leave the plant by train. I worked in the same building with programmers, and marveled at the company’s achievements. I am now retired and can look back at many lasting memories. I can recount many more stories, but I have such a feeling of pride that we were a “company” family.
