From the P-38 Lightning to the Stealth Fighter

During World War II, I flew two P-38s, tail numbers 4599 and 5255. That was quite an experience for a single-engine pilot with limited twin engine time!

Later, after completing engineering school, I worked in Lockheed’s engineering department on the Rigid Rotor Helicopter, the L-1011 and the Stealth Fighter.

Flying the P-38 was quite the experience!
