My Father and I Shared a Love for All Things Lockheed

We also admired the P-38
by Brent McD.

My father worked on the P-38 Lighting as a mechanic during World War II. He loved that fighter! We visited aircraft museums, where he told me all about the P-38.

I worked for Lockheed from 1965 through 1985 at Johnson Space Center, on the Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle programs as a developer and engineer. I developed simulations to train astronauts and to checkout the flight hardware and software. I greatly enjoyed working for Lockheed.

My father loved the P-38.
